228 Lafayette Road In 2002, a group of Familycapped parents in need of respite for their children with disabilities banded together, raised one million dollars and built a 10,000 square foot respite house. The house opened for operation in December 2004. Casey’s Place is a respite program operated by Elmcrest Children's Center providing weekend, after school and summer respite to children with disabilities ages birth to 21. For program information please contact Elmcrest Children's Center at Casey's Place at 315-492-9990 or www.elmcrest.org The CNY Home Builders Association was awarded "Community Service Project of the Year 2005" and general contractor Doug Klepper was awarded "Builder of the Year 2005" by the National Home Builders Association for their involvement in the project. parents, Familycapped, Inc., Elmcrest Children’s Center, New York State Office of Mental
Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD), Medicaid, New York State
Department of Health and New York State Senator John DeFrancisco. |
